What this policy covers

Big Bite Orlando ("we," "us," "the site") helps people discover local restaurants, creators, and food trucks in the Orlando area. This policy explains what information we collect when you use the site, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

Account information

If you sign in — to favorite venues, suggest a correction, or manage a food truck's schedule — we collect your email address and, if you sign in with Google or Apple, the basic profile information those providers share with us (typically your name and email). We use Supabase to store and authenticate accounts; we never see or store your password when you sign in with Google or Apple.

Content you submit

Favorites, venue suggestions, "Suggest an Update" corrections, and food truck schedules are tied to your account so we can show you your own activity and, where relevant, credit contributions. Every community submission is reviewed by a person before it affects anything visible to other users.

Food truck operator information

If you register a food truck, we collect the truck's name, cuisine, and schedule information, plus a phone number and/or email so we can send you reminders to confirm your recurring stops are still accurate. We use these reminders only for that purpose — we don't sell or share this number with anyone outside the services needed to send the reminder itself.

Purchases

BigBite Pass and Trail purchases are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number — Stripe handles that directly and shares with us only what's needed to confirm your purchase and manage your membership.

Usage information

Like most websites, our hosting and analytics providers automatically log basic technical information (IP address, browser type, pages visited) to keep the site running reliably and understand overall usage patterns. We don't use this to build individual advertising profiles.

How we use your information

We use the information above to:

• Operate your account and remember your favorites and preferences
• Let you submit and track community corrections, suggestions, and (for operators) food truck schedules
• Send reminders relevant to your account — e.g. a food truck confirmation nudge, or a Pass perk expiring soon
• Process purchases and manage BigBite Pass / Trail membership
• Keep the site secure and prevent abuse (e.g. rate-limiting community submissions)
• Understand overall site usage so we can improve it

Who we share information with

We don't sell your personal information. We share it only with the services that help us run the site:

• Supabase — account authentication and app data storage
• Sanity — content management for venues, articles, and events
• Google / Apple — if you choose to sign in with either, per their own privacy policies
• Stripe — payment processing for Pass and Trail purchases
• Mapbox — the interactive discovery map
• An SMS provider — sends food truck operators their schedule-confirmation reminders
• An email provider — sends account, order, and reminder emails

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the safety, rights, or property of our users or the public.

Your choices

• You can delete your favorites at any time from the Favorites page.
• You can sign out at any time from the account menu.
• You can ask us to delete your account and associated data by emailing us (below).
• Food truck operators can stop receiving reminders by opting out of SMS/email in their dashboard, or by deactivating their listing.

Children's privacy

Big Bite Orlando is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to this policy

We'll update the effective date above if this policy changes in a meaningful way. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
